Browse and read without analytics
You can read the articles, access the PDF and code on Zenodo, and use the animations without accepting analytics. The visualization scenes and the Three.js library are hosted on this website. No visitor account, contact form or advertising tool is required to read the resources.
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 loads through Google Tag Manager to measure page views, resource-link clicks and selected interactions with the animations. These measurements help us understand how the website is used and improve its content. They rely on your consent. Clicks to Zenodo are measured as outbound links; this website cannot measure whether a download is completed on Zenodo.
No Google measurement tag loads before you agree. Refusing keeps those tags blocked. Query parameters and URL fragments are omitted from the page and link values configured by this website for measurement. No names, email addresses, form contents or personal identifiers defined by this website are sent to Analytics. Advertising and ad-personalization features are not enabled.
Once analytics is enabled, Google receives browsing and device information needed to provide the service. Its processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy and data-processing terms, including the applicable provisions for international transfers.
Your choice and cookies
Accept and refuse are offered in the same panel. Your choice is stored in the browser’s local storage under ivb_consent_v1 for six months. This preference is used only to respect your decision; it does not identify you. If your browser prevents it from being saved, your choice applies to the current page and may be requested again on your next visit.
After consent, Analytics may set the _ga and _ga_… cookies. Their expiry is configured to six months, without automatic extension on every visit. You can withdraw consent with the Analytics cookies button in the footer. The website then blocks measurement, deletes the accessible Analytics cookies on this domain and reloads the page to remove the loaded tags. You can also clear this website’s data in your browser settings.
Analytics retention
GA4 user- and event-data retention is set to two months, without resetting it on new activity. This duration concerns data covered by that setting; it does not apply to standard aggregated reports.
Technical operation
Server logs may contain technical information such as IP addresses, dates, requested URLs and browser details for operating and securing the service. WordPress administration uses cookies needed to sign in authorized users. Signed-in administrators are excluded from Google measurement on the public website.
